How you ever been expressly told to do something? What about the sentence, Did not I expressly tell you to wash the dishes before you went out to play? I've had these words come into my reading of scripture a couple times and in this video I endeavour to give a meaning to these words. The King James Bible words are defined by the King James Bible itself. You must read the context (the verses before and after the verse you are focusing on), understand who is being spoken to, and compare scripture with scripture. God has commanded his saints to study the word of truth and by searching the scriptures you will come to the proper interpretation and understanding that God has. If you run to the "original" Hebrew/Greek or ask a dictionary what a word means then you are taking a path outside of scripture to understand scripture. A dictionary is not bad to use, but do know that they are written by men and that the word of God is defined by the word of God. Consider 1 Corinthians 2:12-14 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God., 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual., 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned., God has promised to guide us into all truth by the Spirit of truth. His words are truth. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come., The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth if you truly are in Christ Jesus. Keep reading and studying the King James Bible. May this video give you an understanding of these words "express" & "expressly". 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
