The sheet musick is standardized so that if we understand what the symbols and musical notes mean then we all can sing with one voice. Consider what was shown and practice these hymns so you may understand this musical notation. Singing to the Lord with a joyful noise is the commandment in scripture, so understanding sheet musick isn't necessary to sing to God.
